Dance Artist

Michelle Stortz, C-IAYT, RYT500, MFA, is a certified yoga therapist specializing in yoga for cancer and chronic illness. She works in numerous medical settings in the Philadelphia area. As a dance artist and movement educator, Michelle teaches contemporary dance at Bryn Mawr College. Her choreographic work has been presented at the Philly Fringe Festival, the Community Education Center’s New Edge Dance Mix, the Glue Performance Series, Festival 42 and Mascher’s InFlux Series. Previously based in San Francisco, her work has been presented at numerous venues nationally and internationally including a year’s residency in Singapore. She holds an MFA in Choreography from the Ohio State University and a BFA in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin. Michelle also teaches mindful meditation, drawing from the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction curriculum as well as the Theravadan Buddhist tradition.
